Al-Azhar University is the largest university in the world. It originated before the University of Paulina in Italy. It is the third oldest university after the universities of Al-Zaytoonah and Al-Qarawiyyin. However, it has remained an educational institution throughout the centuries, while the first two universities have long ceased to be educational institutions. It is the largest global Islamic scientific religious institution, located in Cairo is the capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to its branches in most of the Egyptian governorates.
Al-Azhar University represents the scientific destination of Muslims. For more than a thousand years, it has been the beacon of knowledge, and the destination for students of science from everywhere to learn Islamic, Arabic, natural and human sciences. Throughout its long history, it has remained a center of moderation and dissemination of Islamic culture and the teachings of Islam and its tolerant values that do not know exaggeration or extremism. Exaggeration, nor extremism, nor sectarian and political fanaticism... In its halls, kings, sultans, presidents, Al-Azhar sheikhs, muftis, ministers, ambassadors, scholars and other parts of the world learned.
